A Brief History
St. Matthew’s Church was organized in 1888 in Sparrows Point. St. George’s Church was constructed in 1929. The congregation of St. George’s and St. Matthew’s dates back to 1973 when St. Matthew’s was closed, along with the town of Sparrow’s Point.
Our Rector, Fr. String, his wife Conni, and four of their five children.
Fr. String's daughter, Katie, a graduate of the Savannah School of Art and Design presented her Dad with this stole which she hand wove in honor of his 12th Anniversary as Rector of the Parish.
